So I know it’s an established thing that anya struggles with school and that’s why her grades are never good but sometimes I think what if she actually wrote the right answers but her handwriting’s too hard to make out so most of what she writes just gets marked as wrong

I mean, yes, that’s clearly a bomb, not a doorknob, an eggplant and some grass.

Thinking about how Twilight and Anya both have such similar childhoods filled with trauma and a little different from Yor since she wasn't alone, but effectively these two both only had themselves.

But the difference is that while Twilight lost his innocence and hope at an early age, forcing him to mature must faster, Anya had her trauma at such an early age that she's still clawing to regain and keep her innocence.

It really becomes evident in this episode because instead of crying or freaking out she goes into action mode, which is a very adult way of acting. And so while Anya is very childish she is capable of doing adult things, despite the fact that she really shouldn't have to as a child.

But the point is that these two characters are the same yet so different. Anya is currently gaining back her childhood and innocence and be a normal kid and the funny thing is she's actually doing the same thing with Loid. Loid finally, even if it's "for the mission " is regaining what he lost all those years ago. And they're getting it back together.

Not really about interpretation of the source material but more your personal opinion:

Anya's very smart because although she's two years younger than everyone she manages to get in and stay enrolled at Eden, a school known for being incredibly demanding (seriously, the stuff they're learning was 6th/7th grade stuff at my school, poor babies).

So do you think once she's a bit older she'll be able to catch up and do better at school? A 10 and a 12 year old aren't as far apart ability wise as a 4 and a 6 year old after all. But I'm also not a teacher or child development specialist so who's to say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Sidenote: I just want someone *cough*Loid*cough* to acknowledge how hard Anya tries and how impressive her achievements are especially considering how young she still is. Yes, her grades are bad and it's not getting her any Stellas but she works so hard. Praise her, damn it!)

My hot take is that the age thing doesn’t really matter. Anya’s academic record would probably be the last thing that’s on anyone’s minds if/when her parents at least find out her origins, and therefore her age. Like, they are not going to go first to Eden and demand they let her retake a grade and then go to make strawberry jam of those scientists who experimented on her.

I also don’t know narratively speaking what knowing/ not knowing really adds to anything, or us having to know her age to determine whether she’s super bright or very dense. She’s dense when she needs to be funny. She’s super bright when she needs to make a peanut bomb or save her papa. How intelligent she is depends on the story’s needs and not really her age. Eden is also just shown to be unrealistically tough as a running joke, and again, despite Anya’s age - whatever that is - she’s bound to not be the best scholastically anyway, even if she were 6 or 7.

Twilight is shown to appreciate Anya for trying, even not knowing anything about her probably being younger than her classmates. He acknowledges her improvements, and sees how his daughter is trying. Although this might also just be him Dadding.

I feel like Twilight deep down knows Anya is probably a bit younger than she claims to be. This is the man who borrowed all the books on childcare and child development on his first day as a father. This is the man who absorbs knowledge like a sponge. And this is the man who loves his daughter a lot. He must see that Anya’s not making all the milestones a 6 year old might make. But it’s also not like he can do much about it. Except to give her more support. Which he would always have done anyway. Dadding.

Just my 2 cents anyway. And again, hot take, so just ignore me. And HC away!

saw a post earlier today saying that twilight's real name might be james, since anya was subject 007 and bond (and bondman) is bond and that would complete the set of references, and i'm pretty sure endo said yor's name is short for "yolanda," which i googled just now and one of the first examples of notable people on the wikipedia page was
